Who can participate?
Ceramic Clay Artists that are BOC members that are bloggers that are making beads (and related items) from earth clay. Not a member yet - sign up on the Beads-of-Clay.org website.

Anyone can visit the blogs, participate in the giveaways (there will be more time for commenting this time around and lots of giveaways!)

Theme
We are having a general theme of "Signs of Spring" to inspire us out of a long cold winter into a season of new growth.


Event Details:
On Sunday, March 6, 2011 Beads-of-Clay members will invite you into their studios through their blog posts. You will see photos, learn about inspirations, process, current work that is going on in their studios.

The artists will either host a "Live Open Studio Event" on their blogs from 1:00-4:00PM EST and host 2 giveaways and be available to interact with visitors. We also ask artists to run a special sale for visiting customers.

Not every artist will be able to make it to the Live Event, so we are going to have a second listing separated out for "Stagnant Open Studio Event" where they will create a post ahead of time. We ask that those artists still participate in the giveaways that day and run a special sale for visiting customers as well. If anyone comes up with a word better than "Stagnant" to describe this - please comment below!

Giveaway Details:

1. Artists are asked to host 2 giveaways on their blog that day.
2. The main Beads-of-Clay Blog post will be hosting a huge giveaway (a collection of donated beads from most of the participating artists).
3. And the additional giveaway for the participating artists that send in 2 beads to BOC's Mary Harding for the main BOC giveaway. That 2nd bead will be put into a drawing for all the donating/participating artists. One artist will be picked to win that giveaway.

If you are a ceramic bead artist and would like to participate just leave a comment below or send an email to Marsha (at) MarshaNealStudio.com. Artists: make sure you are registered on the Beads-of-Clay website. We can put you on our mailing list there so you get all the information you need for our events.

This will be our Third Open Studio event and it has been a great experience each time.

You can check out our last event here to see how it went. You will see the how the schedule for the afternoon works and how the blog hop works.  This time we will have a 30 minute window for comments for Giveaways to give visitors more time to blog hop and we are asking artists to remove their comment moderation for the time of the open studio live event for faster interactions.

Beads of Clay Open Studio Giveaway Winner and Feedback request

Open Studio Blog Next Sunday

The Beads of Clay Bloggers Open Studio Event will be hosted through this Blog on

Sunday, October 24, 2010 from 2pm-5pm EST.

Today's post is a bit of a sneak peek at what is going to be happening next week so the artists and visitors can get themselves ready for a whirlwind of blogging, giveaways, shop specials, and so much more!

If you are an artist participating in next week's Beads of Clay Bloggers Open Studio Event, please post a link to your blog in the "inlinkz" section below (you will have to do this on the actual event day too - this is your "trial run"). It would be a good idea to create a blog post as a sneak peek and link that post so visitors can see what they can expect & also, create a link back to the Beads of Clay blog from your post.

For visitors, here is what the blogging schedule looks like and what you can expect.

2:00pm: Artist Introduction (clickable links will be on the Oct. 24 blog post)

2:45pm: "1st Giveaway" (comment on that specific giveaway to try to win the item)

3:00pm: Bloggers will pick the commenter winner on the 1st giveaway

3:15pm: Welcome into the Artist Studio

4:00pm: "2nd Giveaway" (comment on that specific giveaway to try to win the item)

4:15pm: Bloggers will pick the commenter winner on the 2nd giveaway

We decided to keep the individual artist blog giveaway windows to 15 minutes to be able to give visitors to the actual live open studio a better chance at winning some beads.

Artists were asked to donate 2 beads for a larger Beads of Clay Blog giveaway as well.
So remember to leave comments on the Oct. 24th BOC Blog post in addition to the artists posts for a chance at winning that big stash of beads!

If you are an artist and didn't send your BOC donation beads in, please do so ASAP to be included in the giveaway and have a chance to win as well (the 2nd bead will be for a drawing for the BOC blogging artists from that day that send in donation beads).

It is only a week and 3 days before this wonderful BOC Blog Open Studio Fall Event and I want to give you a sneak peak at some of the wonderful beads we will be giving away on the BOC Blog during this event.  All the pics you see here today are of beads that are part of our SUPER Giveaway for that day. And there are more coming in the mail.

On the day of the event you will begin your blog hop right here at the Beads-of-Clay Blog.   You will see a schedule of the day's events.  You will also see some pictures of hand made artisan ceramic clay beads, including the ones that you are viewing right now, that you could win by leaving a comment right here on the BOC Blog.    And then you will see thumbnails of all the artists who are participating. By clicking an artist's thumbnail, thanks to the inlinkz program, you will be transported to their blog where you will be able to leave a comment and participate in their giveaways. Afterwards you can click on their BOC link and choose another artist to visit.

 

 After visiting the blogs you can go to their Etsy shops or websites where most  will be having sales.  Those will be on until Midnight or perhaps longer.

 Last year some gave as much as 40% off their list price.

Do You remember this sign from last year?  Did you participate last year?

We are planning one again for this year.  Almost exactly a year later.  It will be Sunday October 24.  Stay posted for details.   All you need to participate is a blog, an Etsy or website shop, be a maker of ceramic beads, buttons or pendants , participate in the BOC Giveaway that day, and commit to being on line Sunday afternoon October 24, 2010 to reply to blog comments and announce the winner of your hourly Giveaways.  Most of us had a sale in our shops during that time as well. 

We help you with the rest.

You can also participate by visiting the participating blogs and making comments for the many giveaways of wonderful ceramic beads, buttons and pendants during the three hours of this live on line event.  Or you can shop for incredible discounts at participants shops all Sunday afternoon until Midnight.
