Several folks wrote in and gave some good resources for locating cutters:
BOC member Tari Sasser of Creative Impressions is Clay suggested: Sur la Table This is a great site with over 64 products. I noticed some great and sturdy heart cutters out of plastic. And many other sturdy plastic ones as well. Plastic is great because there is no seam where the metal goes together and they don't seem to sag and loose their shape over time. They are called snap because they nest together and then are snapped shut for easy storage.
Boc Member Tanya Davidson wrote in about her online storeWholeLottaWhimsy to let us know that they carry a full line of cutters good for clay. I have shopped at Whole Lotta Whimsy for years and am always satisfied with my purchases ranging from PMC materials to kilns. Great Shop. She gave us a link for the cutters here And she carries my favorite kind of cutters which are from Makin's.
I just recently purchased these oval cutters. They have great potential for a number of projects I have in mind.

ReplyDeleteI like the Ateco cookie cutters. They come in sets of 5 or more sizes per shape. Thats for the post Mary. It is nice to have several options for cutters!

ReplyDeleteThanks Mary! I have been looking for a way to make my own cutters in a way that would not require tape to hold it together... I usually use the stainless steel strips that they have in the metals section of the local hardware store - wonder if that will work just as the aluminum will (without having to cut it into 1" strips) with epoxy...
