Third Friday Cone 6 Commercial Glazes

Welcome to the monthly Third Friday Cone 6 Commercial Glaze post.
This month I am continuing and possibly ending some of my Coyote Glaze tests (not by any means "done"with them) but I've got a bunch of other glazes that I want to test out too…
Georgies, Amaco, Laguna, Spectrum, and so many more!
Detail of Test Tile for Sept 2011. Marsha Neal Studio.
I will admit, this test was a bunch of colors that I left to the end.
Black, Brown and Red primarily…
Before Glaze Cone 5/6 Firing.
After Glaze Cone5/6 Firing.
I first applied a coat of #74 Alabaster White.
Then the Glazes were brushed from Left to Right Across and Down:
Coyote #2, #17, #57, #59, #66, #71, #78, #81, #90

And here are the glazes by themselves on Porcelain:
Before Cone 5 Glaze Firing.
Top Row: #2, #17, #57
Middle Row: #59, #66, #71
Bottom Row: #78, #81, #90
After Cone 5 Glaze Firing.
By the looks of some of these, they do need to go to a Cone 6 glaze firing instead of Cone 5. I know this post is called "Cone 6", but most glazes are in the Cone 4-6 range. And each one looks different depending if your kiln is computer controlled or just manual.
If it is fired by witness cones or bars - Small or Large Cones matter too. And the overall size of your kiln and amount of air flow (is it vented?)

Here is what the very same glazes look like on my Cone 6 chocolate clay body:
Before Cone 5 Glaze Firing.
 Top Row: #2, #17, #57
Middle Row: #59, #66, #71
Bottom Row: #78, #81, #90
After Cone 5 Glaze Firing.
It is quite amazing how different glazes can look on various clay bodies.
Are you doing any glaze tests?
Trying out any "old is new" sort of testing?
