They WON!!!
Our very own Beads-of-Clay members Joan Miller and Vlad and Kremena of Golem Design Studio have won 2nd and 3rd place in the Bead Dreams Competition at the Bead and Button Show in Milwaukee this week!
Joan Miller Won 2nd Place with her Veggie Buttons.
Joan's Buttons have Carrots, Peas, Mushrooms, Eggplant, Peppers, Onions, Tomatoes, Cucumbers and are those Turnips??? I don't know my root veggies as well as I should. ;-) All of these details were made with colored porcelain clay.
Way to go Joan!
Birds and Fishes won 3rd place!
Here is how Vlad and Kremena described their award winning entry!
The design is an abstract pattern inspired by, but not representing the work of M. C. Escher, Dutch graphic artist and mathematician from the first half of XX century. Looking at each piece from different directions and angles one can see some stylized birds, ...fishes, snakes and other creatures. All the pieces are hand carved and hand painted, so there are not 2 exact same ones.
Don't forget to stop by our 2nd Wednesday Giveaway and leave a comment to win a prize package including a pendant and bead set from Golem Design Studio!
See the official Bead Dreams announcement page here.
