Lynn Barnett is a ceramic artist who lives in Henderson NV. She and her husband relocated to the area from Gulfport MS after Hurricane Katrina. She had a thriving pottery business on the coast and is now building a new clientele of collectors in the Las Vegas area.
"I am a ceramic artist that does all hand-building rather than using a potters wheel. I make large work as well as beads and pendants. I work in stoneware clay and fire to cone 6."
This is a hand made ceramic pendant with an abstract design. The pendant has a matte turquoise glaze and a silver wire wrapped bail for easy hanging on a necklace. This piece is 1 1/2 inches long and just over 1 1/2 inches wide.
Lynn’s first introduction to making pottery was a wheel class at George Ohr Museum. From that time on she has been deep in clay. She studied ceramics at Gulf Coast College. She has continued her studies traveling around the country to workshops given by well-known ceramic artists such as Kathy Triplett, Virginia Scothie, Lana Wilson, Michael Sherrill, and Peter Callas.
This is a hand made ceramic pendant with silver wire wrapped as a bail for hanging on a necklace of your choosing. This piece is made out of stoneware clay and has a beautiful green copper patina look glaze. The pendant is a 2 inch circle with the bail sticking out above it 1/4 inch high.
Lynn produces pottery and sculptures in stoneware, preferring to hand build rather than throw on the wheel. Although coils are her favorite method of hand building, she also builds pieces working with an extruder and slabs .She has expanded her body of work to include making beads, pendants, and jewelry from the clay as well. She finds that working in the clay has a very meditative quality that is quite relaxing. Lynn’s work is organic and is inspired by nature.
This is a hand made ceramic pendant with an abstract design. It is made out of stoneware clay and has a fabulous red glaze that is a show stopper. The pendant is 1 1/2 inches long and just over 1 inch wide. It has a hole for hanging on a necklace. Every time I wear one of my red pendants I get a compliment on it. I hope customers enjoy wearing it as much as enjoyed making it.
Lynn’s award winning work has been in many local and national shows. Her pottery is in private collections across the country. Wholesale inquires are welcome.
