I live in a small town a little south of Charleston called Hollywood with my wonderful husband Greg and our 3 dogs--Tilly, a Miniature Pinscher, Jessie, a Miniature Pinscher, and Doxie, a Dachshund.

I make my jewelry in a rustic casual style using my handmade kiln fired pottery beads and pendants combined with semi-precious gemstones, wood and bone beads, shell beads and African recycled glass. I use a lot of handmade silver beads from the Karen Hill Tribe people of Thailand. Their beads are made by hand using ancient silver-smithing techniques which really suit the rustic style that I like. I finish my pieces with my hand-forged hammered sterling clasps. I also make hand-forged sterling bangles and earrings, and hope to add a line of rings in the near future.

My husband built a wonderful studio for me this past year in the woods behind our house. It is a joy to have this peaceful and spacious place to work after years of trying to cram everything into the house or into his wood shop.





To make the pottery centerpiece for this ring, I hand-formed and carved a small piece of stoneware clay. After drying for several days, it was bisque fired to almost 2000 degrees in my kiln. Then I glazed it and it was fired again to almost 3000 degrees. So it is well made and extremely durable.

The ring itself is bench-made from sterling silver sheet and wire. After forging it, I burnished and polished it to a high shine, then set in the pottery centerpiece.

I stamped 'sterling' inside the band. Ring Size: 6.5. My workmanship is guaranteed for life.

This is a mix of cranberry pearls, citrine, serpentine, green garnet, tiger eye, Thai sterling and a few of my handmade stoneware pottery beads with glass seed beads and my hand-forged sterling clasp. Strung on heavy-duty professional jeweler's wire -- guaranteed not to kink or break.



The turtle on this pendant is from a stamp that I hand-carved. The clay is cone 5 stoneware--which means that it's very durable and hard to break. The size of the pendant is 1.5" diameter. It is knotted onto a silk ribbon and finished with my hand-forged sterling clasp. The length of the cord, NOT including the pendant, is 22 inches.
